Hi, my name is Paul Fallon. I am the Managing Director of Irish Running Tours and I want to thank you for taking the time to find out a little about us. Hopefully we can entice you to visit us here in Ireland and share the many pleasures that that this island has to offer.
Running is a passion of mine and I joined my first running club when I was nine years old (nine and three-quarters to be exact). Over the years I have managed to juggle running my own business along with my love for running. Recently I returned home to Ireland after spending the biggest part of my working life in the United States. What was once just a routine now became a thing of beauty as I re-discovered the beauty that surrounds you as you run here. Instead of running through Industrial Estates in Boston I was now running along the banks of Lough Corrib, with warehouses replaced with castle ruins. Amazing! I had taken it for granted when I was here growing up but I can tell you now how much I appreciate the wonderful backdrops. This led me to starting up a race on my own turf in Annaghdown (pronounced anna-down). I called it the Summer Solstice 10K and I was surprised at the reactions of the runners. They were not doing it for times or to set personal bests, they were coming to me for the beauty of the surrounds and all that came with it. It was almost like the script to a sequel to 'Field of Dreams'.
After the race I sat down and looked at how I would combine my business skills for my love for running. The result is Irish Running Tours. A fun and exciting way to see and experience Ireland. I look forward to welcoming all and show you the local's side of Ireland.
